how to put a banner on your page

before anything you need to go to irfanview.com and download the program for free. (image a)
open paint. make a rectangle in the color you will be making your banner. (image 1)
push ctrl+a and then ctrl+c (this will copy the entire rectangle)
open your irfanview program and push ctrl+v. this will paste the rectangle.
go to image. then go to resize/resample. make sure "preserve aspect ration is checked.
type in 800 as the width. click ok. (image 2)
save the image.
open your browser. go to lunapic.com and open your image. (image 3)
if you have another way you edit pictures you can do it there and ignore the next few steps.
click the text tool. (image 3a)
pick the font you want. color. and what you want to type. (image 4)
click apply text. (image 5)
repeat as necessary. depending on how many types of fonts or colors of words you want.
when finished, click the add gradient tool. (image 6)
right click the image. click copy image. (image 7)
go back to irfanview. press ctrl+v. this pastes your image. save the image. (image 8)
keep irfanview open because you will need it for the coding.
upload your image to tinypic.com or wherever you upload your images.
code help
copy the code below. and paste it at the top of your about me.
first where the code says IMAGELINK put your direct link to the image. (image 9)
then put the height of the image where it says HEIGHT. (image 10)
how do you find out the height? go to image.
resize and resample. and copy the height from there. (as shown in image 2)
where the code says COLOR place the 6 digit color code. (image 11)
how do you get the code? click the background of the image and look at the very top of irfanview.
the color code will show at the top. (image 11a)
if all was done correctly... you are finished!
